Our Purpose and History

Located in the heart Buckinghamshire, Ummah United provides a variety of facilities for every kind of athlete in one convenient location. We offer climate-controlled indoor sports and fitness facilities, as well as outdoor options for year-round use. Stop by for a free visit to see our first-class facilities and meet our friendly, professional volunteers. 

Overall, we have managed to get more youth off the streets of Castlefield, taking part in multiple sports activities and while supervised and led by a team of great role models. Our sports-themed personal development services are designed to bring out the best in young people by providing them with high-quality sessions, mentoring, and guidance.

This outreach program has provided an opportunity for some of these youngsters to come to us with their problems asking for help, in a safe and confidential environment.

We have managed to not only coach these teenagers in sports but also life skills, providing encouragement and recognition through the awards scheme.

Ummah United-How it all began 
Alhamdulillah few of us (myself, Shjeel, Shoaib, Junior, Assad, Adeel and Bilal) started this group in 2001, at Castlefield park playing football in the winter evenings by the light from the lamp post, then later when more people joined us we moved to the sport centre car park. In the beginning we were just playing football and at the same time keeping our younger brothers off the street. In 2002 courtesy of Shoaib Kayani we booked our first group trip to Spain (Valencia) and since then we have gone on a group trip pretty much every year alhamdulillah. As the years went by and we got jobs lol we started booking the AstroTurf at Wycombe sports centre to accommodate the growing numbers. Later we started adding sports to the already weekly game of football. And now alhamdulillah we have over 90 members all from different backgrounds i.e white, black, asian, african, turkish, moroccan, algerian and afghan. Together taking part in either cycling, football, cricket, swimming, running and archery. Now not only are we booking weekly activities where once we couldn’t afford to book a single hour for football anywhere, alhamdulillah recently we have even gathered money and supported many charity and community events including projects alongside Karima and Castlefield youth club.
